Module 1, Part 1: Introduction

The first lecture of the series provides an outline and overview of the course. This includes the importance of properlyconfigured and fitted wheelchairs and seating systems, best-practices, the service delivery process, and outcome measurement to foster evidence-based practice.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this module, the learner will understand;

    1. three benefits of properly fitted wheelchairs
    2. three negative complications associated with poorly fitted wheelchairs
    3. three aspects of best-practice in the provision of wheelchairs
    4. three key variables of the service delivery process
    5. two methods to measure the outcome of wheeled mobility and seating interventions
    6. three components of evidence-based practice
