Module 1, Part 1: Introduction

The first lecture of the series provides an outline and overview of the course. This includes the importance of properlyconfigured and fitted wheelchairs and seating systems, best-practices, the service delivery process, and outcome measurement to foster evidence-based practice.

Upon completion of this module, the learner will understand;
- three benefits of properly fitted wheelchairs
- three negative complications associated with poorly fitted wheelchairs
- three aspects of best-practice in the provision of wheelchairs
- three key variables of the service delivery process
- two methods to measure the outcome of wheeled mobility and seating interventions
- three components of evidence-based practice
