Emma Smith, MScOT, ATP/SMS

Emma Smith is an Occupational Therapist and Assistive Technology Professional, with expertise in the areas of Assistive Technology and Seating and Mobility. Emma has presented nationally and internationally on the topics of switch assessment, access to computing and communication devices (including tablets and mobile devices, and wheelchair skills training. Emma is the founder and Director of Jump Start Occupational Therapy and is currently a PhD Candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of British Columbia.

Description

This presentation will cover the basics of alternative access for mobile devices (phones and tablets) to enable individuals to use these devices regardless of physical ability. The presentation will provide an overview of a variety of access options on commonly used tablets and mobile telephones, including a review of interface devices to achieve independence.
